I’m Susie Click, LPC — an Atlanta-based therapist for eating disorders, anxiety, and women’s issues throughout Georgia.
I believe people heal in relationship, and I’m prepared to be your guide.
Life can be difficult, and you may have developed ways of coping in the past that are not serving you well anymore. These might include eating disorders, perfectionism, avoidance, or hiding your emotions. If you’re ready to make different choices and are looking for a therapist who has the specialized training, extensive clinical experience, and sensitivity to your unique needs, I would be honored to travel with you on this brave journey.
What it’s like to work with me:
I like to say that you are driving the car, and I am the passenger on your journey. I will gently guide you, sharing what I know from years of experience. I help you identify your top values — which serve as our map — and I bring along a curiosity about you, asking that you be curious about yourself and the process of therapy. I pay close attention to our process and welcome all feedback from you. Along with my clinical expertise, I bring lived experience that includes being an imperfect but caring family member, friend, and fellow human. I often ask my clients to share a compliment that they have received — mine is that I have been called “welcoming.” I look forward to welcoming you and hearing about the direction you would like to go.
My Journey
As an older therapist, I have a wide range of life experiences that add depth to my practice. I have navigated many of the same stages and faced similar challenges that countless women do. My job as a therapist is to understand you, and because of my life experience, I am better able to empathize with concerns related to marriage, family relationships, motherhood, adoption, the loss of a loved one, and more.
What makes me different?
I consider myself a creative thinker, and this applies to the way I do therapy. With me, you will not have a cookie cutter approach
I like to include the important people in your life. With your permission, I sometimes include them in a session to improve my understanding of you and your life.
I have the time to prioritize my work, since I am a solo practice and not subject to the demands of an agency or a growing family. I have the time and the space to be with you, which includes flexibility with appointments, including evenings and weekends.
I am committed to the relationship with you. I pay attention to how we are doing and take seriously my goal to create a warm, nurturing space where you can be comfortable to talk freely and confidentially.
